Why do people think Afghanistan and Pakistan are in MIDDLE EAST?

My background is Afghani and i was born and raised in Pakistan and why do most people think these countries are in middle east?Technically they are part of South Asia.....Chine, India, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Nepal, Burma, Bangladesh these are all south asian countries not Middle Eastern....Pakistan and Afghanistan were always muslim.....lol

yes their part of Asia but because of the Arabs bringing in Islamic religion to those areas, people get the idea that the area is part of the middle east.... plus we don't travel much to those areas nor know much about the geography ....ignorance is bliss

Because both countries are moslem country and rule by Islamic law and famouse by their Jihad.

Because your people look relatively the same to others with middle eastern origins. Same thing with the whole Chinese, Japanese, Korean, etc. thing. Just because they have slanted eyes does not make them automatically Chinese. It is sad that in today's society, we can point out people's differences faster than we can realize our commonalities.

Ignorance, my man....just plain ol' ignorance......and laziness. If my answer offends anyone then that just proves my point. I am sure that my answer has offended someone who just read the first sentence. If that person took the time to look up the definition of ignorance, just as they should have taken the time to pick up a dictionary or world map, or a national geographic to see where Afghanistan is located, then they'd know--but because we are so damned lazy and accept whatever we see, hear, or believe based on what others say we remain ignorant of the facts, we don't know/ and what is really sad is that we accept NOT knowing (ignorance).

The Afghans and Pakistanis themselves associate themselves with Arabs more than the Indians and Chinese.They have middle eastern mind set. Thats why.
