Bodrum was the ancient Halicarnassus and is a great place to stay and a good base for other places. The Knights of St John castle of St Peter dominates the port and is very interesting and the swimming is brilliant. Boat trips are great and stops for swimming excellent. If you are into history Labranda is nearby and rarely visited because it is not accessible to coaches --- taxi will take you and trip is worthwhile. Gumusluk is nearby and has a wonderful outlook across a bay of shallow water to various islands.Ephesus is a bit further but unmissable.Love the place and the ambience.
