| There will be a lot of street vendors on the approaches to the major tourist areas off and on during the day. In Venice, if you exit Piazza San Marco from the Correr Museum end and follow the street toward Accademia, there are usually several vendors, but they're all over town. They move around quickly and frequently since most of them are unlicensed. It would be hard to avoid the vendors in any of the big cities.

| In Florence, as you walk north away from the Duomo, heading toward San Lorenzo, you will see lots of hawkers selling their wares. You will also see some around the Duomo itself. Not too sure about Venice, I didn't come across any.In Rome, try Piazza de Navona, near the Trevi Fountain and the around the Spanish steps.Or you could just buy one real item.

| We just came back from Italy, and there are street vendors everywhere. BUT BE AWARE. Our tour guide warned us against buying anything from these "Foreign" street vendors as they are selling illegally AND she said YOU could be in trouble with the Police if you buy anything from them.

| I live in Italy and you can buy them on all the streets by big tourist spots. They are way over prices and you really should barggin with them a lot. Plus just so you know if you get caught bring one into the US or out of the Eu customs will fine you $10,000 and take your stuff. SO be careful. The Eu and US has started to crack down a lot on this and you will see the police in Italy make the guys pack up their stuff or if the guys selling stuff see police they pack up the stuff and run. Because the police will fine then and take the stuff also if they want to.
