Is there any advice for a first time traveler going to Vegas alone?

I am 24, and have never really gone anywhere. I am going to Las Vegas next week alone and am trying to figure a few things to do when I get there. I want to mix it up a little, but don't really know how to do that (as far as night life and such). Any advice?

Don't drink too much, first of all. Be aware of your surroundings. It's a pretty safe place really as long as you are aware and not intoxicated so someone can take advantage of you.
