im having a year out before uni, and was supposed to be going to new zealand in jan 2008 with my bestfriend, but we don't seem so close now. i still really want to travelling, but to be honest i'm quite scared! does anyone have any advice?

you will meet loads of people but will always be by yourself. i travelled to India with a friend and at one point we decided to visit different areas, i ended up being followed and harassed by some very well to do Indian men. i felt very very threatened. i have travelled to other countries like oz with someone and although i would happily of gone there by myself i was glad to have the company because you will get homesick and you will have good and bad times and it's nice to share those with someone you know. i was followed in oz also after finishing work one night but it didn't seem quite so horrific as it did in India. it's entirely your choice but be prepared you will be a long way from home.
