Italian Law - Arrested in Italy?

My friends son has been arrested for trying to steal a car, he had a gun. He has court on Monday, if he goes to jail what could is sentance be, Or whats going to happen. He's 17. Please help!!

i'm italianpeople with less of 18 years old in italy can't be imprisoned in jails (they are recovery centers for juvenil delinquents), and they have to be trial only a special tribunal for underage peopleusually underages don't risk long detentions in italy
