I will be coming to Hobart for 5 weeks in October and needed to find accommodation to stay during that time. Renting an apartment is not an option because the stay is too short. I thought maybe a hotel would give a favourable weekly rate. I don't have an open wallet so was looking to pay around $200 a week maximum. The accommodation doesn't have to be in the CBD itself, the surrounding suburbs like North Hobart would suit me fine. I like to walk so staying in the surrounding suburbs wouldn't bother me too much. Anybody have an suggestions? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. If anybody knows a hotel/guesthouse or whatever that offer good weekly rates let me know.

I visited there in 96. People were very friendly and helpfull.When you arrive in Hobart go directly to any pub and start meeting the locals. They will help you with anything. I was offered a place to stay before I could ask. There are also Hostel's to rent for travelers like yourself.stick with the locals.
