...week? I have a UK resident permit ...Do I need a visitor visa to go to switzerland for a week.
Also Do I need to have travel/health insurance covering switzerland as well

You ALWAYS need travel insurance when you go abroad, or you could end up languishing in a foreign hospital with no way to get home.

As for the visa, I'm not sure because Switzerland isn't part of the EU.
