 I was in Germany last year.? My friends and I were in Munich. Whenever I asked in German for directions or help with something the other person would reply in English, even though I am fluent in German? Just curious. For instance, in Munich after Oktoberfest one night, i was lost. I walked up to a Polizei and asked, "Wo ist der Hotel Einhorn?" He responded in English, "Go up the street and turn left at Paul Eisser Strasse?" He had no accent, but he noticed right away that I was not a German citizen.
