Napa, CA (near to San Fran) in the wine country. Try to stay at hostels.

Head to Europe to keep flight costs and times down, plus try staying in a backpackers hostel (make sure you get a room for 2)In Nice, France - stay in Chez Patrick - loads of fun, near the nightlife and you will meet loads of people there. The shopping isn't much cheaper than UK, and the beach is pebbly.In Barcelona - stay at "Kabul" - big backpackers, but try and get a room for just the 2 of you if possible, otherwise it will be rubbish.Check out tripadvisor.com for reviews on destinations Check out hostelworld.com to find cheap accommodation.Thailand is incredibly cheap when you get there, just try and get a good deal on a flight and you're sorted. www.opodo.com

I'd come to Argentina. Buenos Aires in september is warm, not so expensive and has excellent night life!! There are also lots of places to go shopping. I don't know what kind of person you are but you could wait and leave it as a bit of a surprise. A good option is to leave it until the last minute and then look around as you can pick up amazing bargain deals. Sky Travel has a channel on T.V that does really good discount deals if you get them last minute. Doing it this way will get you a good deal and also keep you in suspense if you like that bkind of thing.
