Any travel advice for a first-time traveller to Quebec?

I'm taking a small student group there next year through a school tour company, however, I want to take a trip there myself before going with the kids and their parents.

I presume you speak a little French. Montreal and Laval , Quebec Ville, are excellent. Montreal has a China Town also that is interesting. Visit the Ilsan and the Expo center. Old Montreal is great (Cirque du Soleil) and some bars. It is a bit risque for teens but splurge yourself. Finally, tourism is big bi-lingual business in Quebec, be sure to check with the government offices.
