Why is it when I ask for things I always get what i ask for but..?

 Why is it when I ask for things I always get what i ask for but..? never what I really want or what makes me happy. I am just realizing I need to be very specific, when I ask for something and even then I need to be careful. Why?

| Well, look at the things you like. Hobbies or your dream. For example, I dream is to become an astronaut so I would ask for a telescope. Ask for the things you really want...all the way from your heart. Money is not for useless things that don't make you happy. You know, there are millions of kids in Africa and Asia that could have used that money. All I am saying is, ask for things that you can have all you life and never ask for anything like that again. I think the real answer to your question is "Ask someting from you heart and prove that your heart is right. Better yet donate that money to the poor and homeless"
