...not in the occult is he? I hope not I ask because I was reading one very famous Science Fiction writer (who shall remain nameless) who's books got really weird. Come to find out, the guy was a satanist. I do NOT want to repeat this incident. You might think this question is strange, but that's OK, cause it is, short of. It's just that I notice alot of SF and horror writers are into some pretty messed-up stuff that I would just rather avoid. Thank you very much for your help!!!

Why would that bother you? Your reading the beliefs of an author so it shouldn't matter. If I was a horror writer and wrote about vampires and it came out that I really thought I was one so what? it's entertainment. I'm not hurting no one by taking it a step further. King once said if he didn't write he'd be a serial killer, it sells books and adds to the ambiance. The author really isn't hurting anyone and it's no different then entertainment. You're reading him/her for entertainment, they are practicing satanism for entertainment... it's a free world.
