I would not have enough input on them to say they have no talents, but most likely they have found ways to be mysterious in a country atmosphere but would not fly to a savy street wise audience.
Combining simple magic tricks along with a culture that hands down information by story telling, things can be fluffed over the decades.
But I cannot say it is impossible for one person out of the worlds billions to have some kind of mental powers, just becaue I havent seen it first hand doesnt give me the right to say it is silly.
