| when i had my first apartment a few years back i was laying on the couch sleeping...i was woken by evil noises that are hard to explain ...but as i woke i felt myself drop back down on the couch as though i had been levitated in the air....my landlord happened to be a minister and when i spoke to her of this she told me that the man who used to rent the apartment was actually a devil worshiper who did demonic rituals there ....i am not sure what this was but it scared me enough to make me move out that very day...anyone else ever have something like this happen?

| Hmm, I see that yahoo has added "paranormal phenomena" to the "science & mathematics" section. Interesting. Anyway, if this was just a one-time thing, don't worry about it. Everyone has had crazy sleep experiences before. However, if this has happened on more than several occasions, and it is emotionally troubling to you, you may want to look into medical conditions like sleep paralysis and night terrors. You say it was your first apartment? Does that mean the first time you lived by yourself? If so, disrupted sleep and even terrifying dreams are common. "Have you moved recently?" is a standard question doctors ask when a patient comes in with insomnia. A very similar thing happened to me when I first lived alone. Maybe half a dozen times, I had these extremely vivid dreams of walking around my apartment, feeling afraid. I would go to my door, open it, but there would be nothing but blackness outside. In the dream, I would even touch stuff to make sure I wasn't dreaming...but I always was. These dreams were very scary, but in the end, they subsided as I became more comfortable in my environment. Remember, there's ALWAYS a better, more useful explanation than ghosts and ghoulies for the things that go bump in the night. There's zero proof for any paranormal phenomenon, and even if one seemed convincing, it would do nothing to help a medical condition.

| TR is on the right track here with this one...you probably didn't need to move. You should also probably try to clarify "evil noises"...what made them "evil"? I know when my Angels laugh it sounds sort of creepy but I certainly wouldn't say it was an "evil noise".

| No never happened to me. But to get rid of spirits in a house you should burn some Sage.

| It sounds to me like you just had a bad dream, or perhaps even a case of sleep paralysis. Not sure what you mean by an evil noise. What does an evil noise sound like, as opposed to a non-evil noise? If you were woken up by them, it's probably something you were hearing in your dream. Ghosts and paranormal phenomena always seem to happen when people are waking up from sleep or just going to sleep, and I don't think that's a coincidence.
