| Ok so a while back I put my daughter to bed like I always do, a few minutes later I saw the light on in her room and every time I turned it off she would get back up and turn it back on. Ever since then she has been afraid of her room and says there are ghosts. I do not believe in ghosts and it's not something we have ever mentioned before, I assume she got it from scooby doo. She was on such a good routine (8:30 every night) and now it's chaos. Every night she falls asleep on the couch and I move her to her room but some time during the night she gets back up on gets back on he couch. I told her there is no such things as ghosts but she is still afraid. What should I do?

| Fill a spray bottle with water and print a label for Ghost-B-Gon on it. Before she goes to bed, take her around and have her spray for ghosts. Tell her that this is guaranteed to get rid of all ghosts, goblins, monsters, etc. Let her keep it by the bed and tell her you only have to spray it once for it to work but you can keep it here to spray her bed and herself after you turn the lights off.It worked wonders for my two girls.

| What if you told her that the ghosts have moved out of her room to the couch? Tell her you saw one sitting there the other night. Use reverse psychology.

| You should make some magic "ghost be gone" juice. Tell her that it can only be made by grownups to get it to work. Take a sauce pan, put water in it, when boiling toss some salt into it (in front of her) and say "All bad things be gone from this water" Then take a silver spoon (it should be real silver-more "magic" that way) holding the pan yourself, let her put a few drops on all four walls of her room, the floor and the door jams. Then you should flip a tiny bit onto the ceiling so that she feels like nothing can get into the room from any where. As she puts the water on she should say "this room is clean and clear of all bad things".She will feel so empowered and like she actually had a hand in protecting herself.I've done it with my child and she hasn't had a problem in her room since then.

| With my son who is now 4, when we went into the ghosts in room phase, we did 2 things. 1st, he has blue carpet in his room, and we told him that monsters don't like blue, can't walkk on blue, and that they were afaid of thomas the train. He has a thomas blanket on bed. 2nd, I took glitter and put it in a salt shaker, and gave it to him. I told him to sprinkle it around his bed, and that the ghosts could not see what was in his bed, because the glitter would make them not see. I will say that I really regret the glitter thing, but it worked like a charm, and tinkerbell fairy dust(what we called the glitter) is the most powerful monster/ ghost deterrent we found.and with glitter, a little goes a LONG way, especially in the hands of a 3 year old!

| What we did when we encountered this problem was fill a plastic spray bottle with water and essential oils, whatever scent you like. Every night before bed we would spray the room with "no monster spray" and we would leave the spray bottle in her room so if she woke up and got scared she could spray for herself. It worked like a charm, we only had to do it for about a week and a half before she told us her monsters had to find a new place to live!

| We scented room spray as monster spray. Instead of just water, the spray has a scent in it that she can smell. You know little kids - if she can smell it, the monsters can, too...Hold the routine, though, just add the monster spray to it.

| Try putting a night light in her room. My sister had a good idea with monsters for her grandkids. She covered a bottle of air freshener with a sign that said monster spray. When the kids got scared my sister would spray for monsters. It seemed to work.
