I focus my psychic abilities through the magic wand which I made myself -- it's made from arundo, with cat tail hair core, 11 inches long, springy. You glean instructions for making these from the Harry Potter books, which I highly recommend.

meditation is a good way. Truth is, once you've let it be known that you want to grow and expand gifts, the process, once started, will continue of its own accord. So meditation is a good b/c it helps you learn to quiet the "noise" in your mind. The psychic stuff for me very often isn't "hey! here I am!!" it's more quiet and you have to learn to "listen".
