Many many times it's quite common.In my case In my case I'm back in the Marines,I hear the DI's yell "get out of the rack".It's been happening for years.It's just a dream continuing up to the last minute.

Yes, it's called just waking up and not being fully coherent. Any other questions I can answer, that have a logical answer without turning to the paranormal?
How about one that is on every believers mind.
When I put the kettle on the stove, and turn on the heat, the water boils. Is my house haunted?

And you think this isn't normal? It happens quite frequently in my house...actually they'll call my name to wake me up.

Very common.
I hear it when the hair dryer is on
when the water for dishes is on
and when the tv is on in the background especially. All noise that doesnt have your direct attention is constantly being sorted and categorized and your favorite word in the whole world is......your own name.

You can tell that you really do not believe you heard someone call because you do not answer.

Yes I have and the creepiest part is, I am deaf. But I really heard it.
BUT with so many creepy things happening in my life thats the least of my worries.

I have not heard anyone say my name, however I have heard auditory hallucinations a lot while waking up, mostly clicks or buzzed, but occasionally voices talking. I don't think this is uncommon. Probably part of the dream mechenism which is still turned on for a moment.
When I was younger, I could lay in bed for a few minutes right after I woke up, if I didnt open my eyes and whatever I thought, I would hear outloud. In other words, I could manufacture the hallucinations. I tried doing this recently, but with much less success when I was younger.

I guess the lesson is, the mechanisms that control your sleeping and dreaming can do really weird stuff when they dont turn off right away.
