| Hi, My friend was babysitting for my daughter(9) and her granddaughter (6 months) . In the early evening my friend and the girls were downstairs and nobody else was in the house. In the room above the lounge, where the girls would be sleeping the baby moniter was plugged in. All of a sudden a noise came from it that sounded like someone in pain. My friend got a fright because the little red lights that go up and down on the monitor when it detects sound were flashing . This went on for about 30 seconds and my friend couldn't make out what the voice said. Although frightened, she went up to the room but there was nothing there. The window was closed the tv was not plugged in and no electrical appliances were on. When my friend came back down my daughter said to her "Don't worry, It was just a dead person" The baby also seemed unconcerned.Could this have happened because of a mobile, wii etc nearbyShe's a bit scared, and nervous at the best of times an explanation would help, thanks

| this could well be a spirit as your little girl said, children do tend to see them alot,my little boy is always on about people that we cant see,but sometimes with baby moniters they can pick up signals from other baby monitiors in the area i know i once switched mine on and was listening to someones full converstation about something or other, its like a cb isnt it so it could just be that,if your friend is scared then just tell her its that!!but remember the dead cant hurt you be more afraid of the living!!xx

| i believe i ghosts, so much so that its too much too go into. young children are still able to see, we lose this ability as society has evolved to live without the need for this, you too can tap into this unused part of the brain. search google for techniques.

| Alot Of Times Baby Monitors Can Pick Up Sounds From Other Peoples Monitors Or From Cb Frequencies, Etc. I Really Wouldnt Worryif That Is All Thats Going On.

| personally i believe what your friend heard was a spirit, they are often picked up through things like monitors aswell as on camera.children are more open to being able to see spirits, as they have not had it drummed into them that there are no such things etc.dont worry, as the spirit would probably be a relative or friend who has passed over, and is visiting to check on the child.i used to babysit a friends baby daughter, and myself and the parents regularly heard the baby laughing and chatting away to someone who she could obviously see, through the monitor.

| I believe, like other people who have answered your question, that children are more open and suceptable (if thats the right word) to the aura's around them.My grandchildren have been seeing an old man around the house , and its not their dad, for a long time and it does not bother them. When my daughter was having an extension done to the house, my granddaughter aged 3 fell thro the ceiling, about 12 foot on to concrete, she picked her self up and walked away. Was the old man watching over her! Scarry.

| Sounds like everybody's been watching too many x-files reruns. It's common knowledge that baby monitors pick up random, nearby frequencies from cell phones, TV's, radios and other electronic devices in the neighboring vicinity. So just because your friend didn't have any devices on doesn't mean your next door neighbor didn't either. Remember the range on these could be up to 200 feet. How many electronic devices does that add up to? Probably a lot.The clincher in your story for some of the posters above seems to be that your 9 year old daughter thinks what she heard was a dead person. Okay, NOW I'm convinced. That just proves a 9 year old girl has the overactive imagination of a 9 year old girl, not that ghosts are real. Ockham’s Razor is a good rule of thumb when trying to understand what you might think is paranormal. It basically says to always look for the simplest and most straightforward explanation rather than the complex one. 'When you hear hoof beats look for horses, not zebras' (i.e. start with the obvious). Call the manufacturer and they'll tell you exactly what the likely culprits are and how to remedy it, e.g. move its location, change channels, etc.BOO! Got ya!
