Ever feel a random sting in your side when doing something romantic with someone new? Ok, I know this is really strange question but i'm curious because this has happened to me twice in my life in remarkably similar situations.
Has anyone ever felt just a random sting in their side, when say... you stop wondering about someone? It's so hard to explain. I guess i'll give an example. I was with a girl at work, and I left the job, and never saw her again. It wasn't serious, I was like 18... but I wondered about her. TECHNICALLY we were still dating, because we never broke up. We just kinda stopped calling each other. But anyway, I was sitting on the porch at a party, and a girl just leaned over and kissed me. At that second, I felt a sting in my side, almost like a bee stung me. I'll remember it forever.
This next time it happened, I was thinking about this girl alot, and she stood me up a few times. So I was sad, and like wtf? But then I relaxed, and finally somewhere in my head convinced myself it's not worth it, time to move on... and bam, I got another sting...
So it's got me on a theory... that this sting is when you lose your 'connection' with that person. i.e. you stop thinking about them or 'knowing' when they're thinking about you. And it makes sense it's on the side, since sharks have extremely sensitive nerves down their sides, called a lateral line, and it's present in other mammals as well, that sense electrical energy. Sooo call me a weirdo, or just hopelessly lost, but i'm wondering if anyone has experienced this also.
Maybe it's an evolutionary remnant. Cuz you know how you can think of someone and right then, they'll call. Don't tell me it's never happened to you. What do you think? Lemme know if you've ever felt it. Just a little sting... didn't really hurt, but sorta eerie. Psychic link being broken? I dunno. whatever.
