I once had something come to me and tell me my mother had just died. Before I was told things, like another's thoughts coming into my mind, I was lifted up three flights of stairs. It took no exertion at all and I was stepping 4 steps at a time. I thought, "Wow, that was the weirdest thing that ever happened to me." Then the thoughts, not a voice or words, came into my mind. It was very profound but there was no vision of it, whatever it was. It put thoughts directly into my mind that were impossible for me to have known. It happened on the other side of the world and I was notified, apparently to spare my feelings. I am convinced there is more to us than just a physical being or I don't see how that was possible. I am still a scientist at heart so I don't tend to believe things that are outside my experience. There are, I am absolutely convinced, higher beings or a being that have the ability to travel to any place on Earth and find someone. How could this spirit know where to find me. My mom was in South Dakota and I was in Hawaii. I hadn't spoken to the family for a month and had no idea she was that seriously ill. I have no idea if people become ghosts and I doubt they would stay on Earth. Still, it seems possible, based on my experience.

As an atheist, I don't believe in ghost as the are normally thought of. However, I've known to many people with "ghost stories" that I believe.I think that maybe when a mind is highly traumatized that it might imprint that trauma on it's surroundings. We've just started to learn what the mind is capable of, so I think there is a lot of weird stuff going on we just don't understand. Yet.

Just because you personally haven't seen something does not mean it does not exist. It is foolish to suggest such. Have you ever seen the planet Mercury? Do you think it does not exist if you haven't? Think about the things you have never seen, but are certain of their existance. To rule out the paranormal because of a lack of personal experience is ludicrious.Society learns things over time, things we did not know existed. Scientists discover new species every day, new stars and planets regularly. Solid evidence of oceans on Mars just a couple weeks ago. Never think you know everything, because no one does.As for me, I think ghost exist, I've never seen one, but I've seen things happen that are unexplained. I also think many of the theories about what a "ghost" is and why they are here are likely to be way off target. But, yes, I do believe that there are spirits around.
