i understand that the original laughing man had something to do with the serano genomics incidents, and i know that Togusa figured out that he once lived in some kind of rehab centre built by the ministry of health. But what i don't understand is, is aoi really the laughing man (the guy that motoko and aramaki offered a position in section 9), or is he just another optical camouflage by the real laughing man? if so than who's the real laughing man? is he really the guy that once lives in the rehab centre, and is everything that aoi said about the laughing man true?Cause i just read something in the Production IG website and they said that aoi is not the real laughing man, and the identity of this person is still unknown, if so the who was leaving in the rehab centre?

It was in fact the blue haired man who was offered a job. You remember when Motoko was changing bodies? Her rescuer was that same person. There may have been some confusion when "nanow a"(or something) was trying to become known as the laughing man.I didn't stay completely up with the series, but you may have thought the blue haired guy wasn't because he said it wasn't actually him to chose to take the identity.
