returning to karate?

i was a green belt in karate but then i quit for three months and then i'm deciding on taking it up again when school starts. should i stay where i was before or should i go back to white belt or go down a stripe/belt. HELP!! i need some advice

Well rules vary from Dojo to Dojo but in mine if you take more than three months off you have to retest for your rank to keep it. This only last until you have become a full Black Belt. Then you can go on or stay put.
If you go to a new Dojo they for certain will start you off as a white belt and may ALLOW and I say MAY allow you to test for yellow faster than normal or for green. It will all depend on how much you have retained of what you learned and the rules of the Dojo you choose.

so if you liked where you were before, go back and continue your training. Your road back to green will be a lot faster within the same system you were once in.

in taekwondo, you can retain your rank even if you have taken a year of absence as long as you still remember your stances and poomse... i think in karate is pretty much the same as l9ong as you can still remember your katas and stances and puncehs and kicks
