How can I stop my bike's disk brakes squeaking?

My bicycle has a nasty habit of squeaking to a shill halt when the brakes are applied. What do I need to do to make them quiet but still grip tight?

Adjust them for "tow-in". Basically, the forward motion of the wheel tries to pull the brake pad away from where it's fixed. Adjust the pad to be on an angle (closer to the wheel nearer the front of the bike) then tow-in will make the brakes parallel to the rim when you brake (and will actually make the brake stronger).Damn! - I didn't see they were disk brakes - not sure if the same rules apply.

disk breaks are advantages if we use in proper way so while useing disk breks u shoud have to use ypur both front and rear breks at a time at a time for bikes and when come to cars beter to use hand break .....

DON'T use wd40!! You shouldnt use wd40 at all on bikes, and you never want a lubricant on your disk brake rotors.Just some clarification

Careful with oiling the brakes. You do not want oil in your brake pads or disk!Most likely they are dirty or humid. Cleaning them will usually do the trick. Clean the brake clam and the disk the bet you can an see what happens.If not, they are probably not well aliened (towed) maybe then you will have to take it to a bike shop to get them perfect.On the other hand, the squeaking could also be seen as a warning system to others that you are approaching, not a bad thing at all.
