| Supposedly there have actually been 5 female F1 drivers in history. There are currently a few female racers trying to break into F1 and I hope they do.But I wouldn't say they are being sexist - more unwilling to change. Unfortunately it happens in a lot of sport. Tennis being a good example - why are men's game 5 games and women's only 3? Women can last for 5 game matches as well news.bbc.co.uk

| Women would be allowed to if they were good enough. The trouble is that it is a los more physical than it looks, pulling several G's through the corners. Lie on your side on the floor & hold your head off the ground with no support - this is only 1 G - imagine your head weighing 4 times that & add 4 times the weight of a helmet & they have that pressure on their neck for a couple of hours through each corner.

| I think that there aren't enough Women who actually want to, i don't really think it is sexist.. But then again it is. The women who aren't allowed to drive f1 should start their own car races.. an even better one..

| There are no rules banning women from driving F1 cars. There just hasn't been a woman good enough yet to break into the top ranks.I'm not quite sure why. In the US, Danica Patrick has achieved reasonable results in Indy racing, though she has yet to win a race. Michelle Mouton was possibly the most successful female in motorsports, competing at the highest level in international rallying. I saw her once, and she was awesome. It may be as simple as women lacking the strength and stamina to go a full race length. In shorter events, like rallycross or even drag racing, women have proved equal at least to their male counterparts.

| Like it or not women lack credibility as far as sponsors are concerned, therefore teams are very reluctant to support women in this role. Also , unless I have missed something in the media lately, I haven't seen any great pressure for this to happen. I can't see any branch of motor sport anywhere that has any more than a few token women represented nor any great desire for it from women.

| As has been said, teams are just unwilling to sign women simply because of lack of credibility. Also, with Danika Patrick, she is only in Indy because of her daddy's plastic. She doesn't deserve it, she ****s. She is such a bad driver, and even worse at talking to the public. She fulfills all those male superstitions, so it is hard to get credibility. I will do it some day though, I will find a way. Racing is my life, and I am better than any male that I know. I am physically fit and am able to last through races. Women can do it, its just more difficult for them.
