is 175 metres (192 yards) a good drive?

I am just a kid (15) but today on the driving range, I was having a good day and I hit a drive 175 metres.

I am a begginer and I know it was a great shot by me but is that a good drive compared to a seasoned 15 year old who has played since he was young?

PS. The 175 metre drive by me was the winner in a Long Drive Shootout, my best for the day in practice was 190-200 metres!

Yes thats very good for your age,but remember the old golfing adage " Drive for show,putt for dough"

I am 13 and have been playing for a just over a year now. I drive just over 200 yards. But my short game is my best. As the other guy said "Drive for show,putt for dough". Your drives are good as long as they ar straight and set you up well for your seond shot. I wouldn't worry too much about driving. Try to focus on your irons and your short game. The driver is the club in the bag you use the least (supposedly) and the putter you supposedly use the most. Good Luck with the great game! Dan

well i am 15 too and have been on the golf team for 3 years a typical drive for me is about 220 yards if i really crush one it can go about 260 with a 200 yard drive like that though and you keep it in the middle you will do well on about every course i've played
