 why do black people think that it is ok to tell a white woman she shouldnt have dreadlocks? These people are walking up to my friend randomly on the street, and initiating a dialogue and telling her she shouldnt have dread locks because she isnt a rastafarian. Many different cultures have worn dreads through the centuries, and it is racist to pass judgement on someone based on their looks... This kind of negativity is audacious and rude. Wow, americans can be so ignorant to non normative cultures and styes!

| Wow...really? I don't agree with that. Hair is hair!! Do what you please to it!! There are alot of Blacks who have locs, that aren't rastas (jamaican).

| First of all, I'm African American and I wouldn't do that, and second, she should ask them "Why do it matter to you" I think white people want to be bold enough to ask but they don't and African Americans that do ask or tell her she shouldnt are just dumb. no race problem here, lol if they only knew about rastafarian, they probably wouldnt get their hair done like them. It's not just a hairdo people, if they only knew, they wouldnt want to get their hair done that way.. Research people, research.
