What are you doing to prepare your family and community for disaster,

natural or man-made including terrorism? We live in a dangerous world and being unprepared costs many lives and untold dollar amounts yearly. There is much the individual can do other than depend on the oft-times undependable government - remember the non-response following Hurricane Katrina? What do you suppose YOU can do to help your family and your community best prepare for a disaster of any sort?
