Are ideas just ideas, or do you think they were real?

Picture this, and please answer. Do you think, just maybe, that angels used to exist, and that they somehow conveyed they once did exist somehow to somebody by an idea? All these people who are intelligent and creative... did they really invent those ideas? Or did they somehow get them from something that used to be? What about humans? Perhaps we're really reincarnations of not just other people, but people from books... ideas. Basically, I'm asking what I asked first? Are ideas just ideas, or do you think they were -- and are-- real?

hey thats some deep stuff. are you talking like when a writer creates a character like say harry potter that maybe somewhere harry potter is real like in a parallel universe or something? like that stranger than fiction! or like the whole angel thing to say to the world that they existed they sorta went muse on a mofo and inspired them to create what we know and believe to be angels? thats wild

I believe they still exist, in another dimension obviously. I have heard beautiful voices. I do not tell many people because most dismiss the idea, but I have heard voices in my head that were not me and that were unlike any other voices I have heard before. Voices so beautiful sounding it was like they were not human.

Well, I'm pretty sure that I'm a bit too complex of an individual to base my personality and existence entirely on a character from a book, as I'm sure you are too.Basically, we are all too complex and dynamic to be completely derived from previously existing characters. We have free will, at every second of every day. Sure, many of our "ideas" and certain aspects of our personalites are formulated based upon outside influences (books, characters, movies, etc) but we are each much, much too different and diverse to be contrived characters.

I believe that we, our world & everything in it, was an idea in God's mind. Does that make us any less or more real? I believe it makes us more real. One reason for this belief is someone asking this sort of question & making it plain enough to understand & answer. Since I am new to this site, I have some trouble understanding what I see.
