How can I get them to stop doing this? In my family, I am basically the only person who despises chewing with your mouth open and making loud noises while you eat your food. The rest of my immediate family will just chew with their mouthes open, speak with food inside of their mouthes, and make obnoxious noises while eating foods that only require the bare minimum of chewing power.
I have politely asked them many times, to just close their mouthes when eating their food because it sounds so gross, or to even just take smaller bites, but all they do is ridicule me, scold me, and/or talk about all of 'my problems' right then and there.
How else can I get them to stop chewing their food like horses?
(Example of chewing: my sister eats mashed potatoes and it sounds like a train just crashed into a saliva factory...she is 21 and believes that hearing excessive saliva noises is normal and proper.) Oh yeah, the ironic part about this whole situation is, my oldest sister is an alumni of the Culinary Institute of America.
