 Why is my entire balcony door and windows of my apartment covered in spiders... ...and webs? Also, why are spiders afraid of light? I shone my flashlight at them tonight and they were running away?!

| You probably live in an area where there are a lot of bugs, which are staples of a spider's diet. Spiders are afraid of you shining a light on them ,cause it alerts their flight or fight response and are aware that something is there that is out of the ordinary. Even in my garden, I have noticed that the "freaks come out at night." I see spiders, lizards, snails, possums running around my garden at night sometimes. I rarely see these creatures during the day, with the exception of the lizards.
