Oh yes. There are many active volcanoes. They mostly lie at the Mid-oceanic Ridge, which circumvents the Earth. Another major group lies along the Ring of Fire, which is the continental edge of the Pacific Ocean. Many others are found along other tectonic boundaries, such continent-continent subduction of the European Plate underneath the African Plate. Another major group is at continental rifting locations, such as the East African Rift Valley. Finally, a significant number are found where mantle hot spots are, such as the island of Hawaii and the Yellowstone Caldera.
