Is it safer to swim in the ocean during high tide or low tide?

 Well, I guess it depends on what kind of swimming. I love to snorkel. Snorkeling in high tide can be challenging. I am a strong swimmer and tend to go really far out. Once or twice, I had to work really hard getting back to shore. Snorkeling in low tide can be a bit tricky as well; depending on where you go. Sometimes the rocks and coral are too close to the surface with low tide, making it difficult.
