| seen in the reflection? Looking at your own reflection in a mirror, the surface of the glass is a metre away. Do your eyes have to focus on a distance of one metre or two? If there is a chair four metres behind you (and off to the side a little way), is the distance five metres, or eight, or one? I would draw a diagram if I had to. It doesn't seem that a mirror makes an image flat, but it is not exactly like looking at an object directly, either...
