Could Lake Winnipeg be considered a sixth Great Lake?

No, because the sixth Great Lake is Lake Champlaign in New York. The Great Lakes receive special federal funding, so people from New York lobbied to get Lake Champlaign categorized as a Great Lake to take advantage of this funding.

No, because it's not connected to any of the other lakes. It is, I believe connected to Reindeer Lake. But they flow into Hudson Bay, not the Atlantic, as do the Great Lakes.

Well, sorta, kinda, maybe, perhaps, but it is a little detached from the rest even tho I thinkthere is a little run-off into the other big-uns. Since it's pretty good size, let's get somethinggoing and maybe we could put it up for a vote. I vote yes since it's the third largest in Canada.

No, it doen't even drain into the great lakes system. There is a sixth great lake though, it's lake St Clair.
