can plants get cancer?

we ve always heard about human tumors like cancer..i was wondering since this mutation occurs in pro to-oncogene and tumor supressor gene ..do plants even have these genes?can plants develope cancer?would that change their shape??if you have any illustrative pictures ..it 'd b gr8

i know plants can get growths called "nodules" which will actually help the plant grow more plentiful.This is a type of tumour that plants can get, and acts in a symbiotic relationship between the plant and the tumour. That is, both benefit when placed together.

yes, plant do get cancer. but most of their "cancer" is due to bacterial infection. One of the famous cancerous bacteria is Agrobacterium tumefaciens. It causes an abnormal growth of cells at the site of infection, resulting in the formation of a plant tumour (aka crown gall).
