| ...antenna? I occasionally hike to a high peak in my area where TV, radio and other types of broadcast antennas are mounted directly on the ground. They are the large drum and cone type antennas you typically see mounted on very tall masts - I'm wondering if it's at all harmful to be feet away from something putting out so much power (the stations broadcasted from here advertise their far reach).

| The drumand. cone type antennas are usually not broadcast antennas, they are more likely to be commercial or public service repeaters that only transmit intermittently. Are you talking about Mt. Washington?
