is it bad to be on the computer when there is thunder storm!?

It was for me. The power flickered off briefly and my hard drive crashed. Windows wouldn't restart and I ended up having to format the HD and re-installing everything. I think it's best to have the computer off during thunderstorms. You can bet I will from now on.

not if u have a surge protectorif u r on the computer doing a report or watever, u can lose it if the power goes off

it is possible to short out the computer... if lightning hits your home and electricity surges through the electrical wiring in your home your computer can be zapped... it is also smart not to be on the phone or in the shower during a storm... slight chance that you'd ever be zapped this way, but still...
