| The egg. The chicken as we know it today was at some point a differant animal. Basically somewhere along the line chickens evolved from what they were then to what they are now. In evolution living things dont just evolve its their offspring that have traits needed for evolution. So pretty much the chicken we know today came from some thing that laid an egg with what would then have been considered by its parents to be an "oddity" inside, and the line just kept going. It has to be born like that though so, it was the egg that came first.

| The chicken. The Bible talks about God creating the beasts, birds, and fish; it doesn't say anything about eggs.

| The chicken appeared initially, during the course of evolution of birds /animals. Naturally ,it is only after that it developed features of reproduction, for which the chicken is found oviparious. So , obviously, chicken first, and then the egg!! This is a very famous question people keep on asking, but the answer to this is just so obvious.
