Why are parents always nicer to other children and not their own?

So that they will like them. their children are their children, so they're forced to love them.

I don't know where you got your research from but I wouldn't put anyone above my children or the way I treat them, they are everything to me and no other children will ever be treated any better than how I treat my own.

Because the parents haven't lived with the other children. They don't know that they can also be as naughty, haughty, insultive and frustrating as their own kids.They think the other kids are angels but what they don't know is that the parents of the other kids might also be as frustrated as they are with their own kids.Moreover, when other kids are in the presence of older people whom they don't know, the tend to be sooo cute and brittle like ..like..butterflies or something!!!

they are not anything of the sort. Growing up My real mother died and my dad married a chick with 2 kids all ready. that b i t c h tortured me and my brother our whole lifes and babied her 2 kids. She almost permanently damaged me and my brother who ar both extremely intelligent and graduated from H.S with honors and we both got college degrees; where her 2 kids turned out to be bust out Losers. Of course I left home at age 15 and was homeless for a few months, but never looked back and now im 28 and still have not talked to either my father are his b i t c h wife. my brother left at 16 and also never looked back. We might be the exception to your question, but I've heard other horror stories about step mothers. they even right books and fairy tales about them

Familiarity breeds contempt, it would seem. However, that being said, I love my daughter and treat her MUCH better than I do other kids. She's the best and I tell her that all the time.
