Why is my son spitting food? Thanks to those who answered my other question, I didn't word it well. Let me try again.
My one year old has started spitting his food. It started out as just something he would do towards the end of his meal, but now it's become an all the time thing. All he'll swallow are things that don't require chewing. Before this started, he was eating a great variety of foods, especially veggies, fruits, chicken, fish, etc. Not mashed foods either. He was eating finger foods and baby versions of our food. He was really happy to eat just about anything.
He's not teething. Is this just a phase? He was such a good eater before, now he seems to be going back to his baby ways, wanting mashed things like oatmeal, yogurt (plain, no sugar, never) and cheerios. He was onto non-mashed stuff about ten months.
He's been weaned from his bottle for almost six weeks, and is drinking regular cows milk from a cup since his birthday, with no problems.
Is this is just a phase? Any similar experiences?
