My 5 year old daughter has been making up stories about things that are happening at school. Today it was about a friend of hers. She told me that her friend got into trouble at school. I later found out that her friend did not get into trouble. It is not the first time she has told stories about things that have happened at school. She tells me that her teacher tells her how wonderful she is, and while she is doing extremly well at school, I know that the teacher hasn't said the things that she is saying. She even lies about things her friends are suppose to say to her. I don't know why she is doing this, and I don't know what to do about it.

I don't think it is a normal situation, as she is not lying to stop gettting into trouble. I spend heaps of time with her, I am regularly at the school for reading groups etc, and she gets lots of positive attention for her school and sporting achievements. Help me!!!!
