What's Legal age to start babysitting in Australia?

I have a 13 year old niece that is extremely competent and responsible for her age. I am really looking forward to the day when I can start paying her to babysit my children for me. I would only ask her to do it for a max of 3 hours and only during the day. Any one know?

I dont know if there is a legal age. I started when I was 12 but I guess it depends on the teenagers maturity level. If it's a family member that you trust than I would say that 13 would be ok.

why would you care what the legal age limit is if you trust her?
