| Have to agree that both are pretty awful. I don't really understand people wanting to give their kids 'unusual' names, you do have to think about when they are older and no longer 'cute', is being called 'Tyler' or 'Karlos' going to get them taken seriously in their careers, or will a first look at their name on a job interview list automatically bring to mind a certain type of person? Are they going to be forever having to spell out and correct people on their names? Unfortunately the world is cruel and what you call your kids can have such a big impact on them.

| I prefer Tyler over Karlos. Tyler is a name that would be good for a child and a grown up, as would Karlos. Unless your ethnicity fits using Karlos, I would use Tyler.To the answerer who was concerned about these names when the child got older and the name was no longer "cute", I'm not sure why they think that these are "unusual" names. I know a few children and adults both who are named Tyler. And Carlos is quite common as well, with certain ethnicities. Tyler is quite a common name. I've heard much much much worse.Good luck
