what is a good group therapy activity for adolescent boys?

they are in a psych ward, dealing with anger problems...family problems...depression, sexual abuse..pretty much everything.uh no sports. they're in the psych ward...a group activity such as crafts, worksheets, etc.

Dream interpretation , Have them draw a picture of their dreams while they are in therapy. A good way to get some emotions out in the open.

hmm..something active ...soccer?and they are kids,maybe have a dance off with some good music,have prizes one so they can be goal oriented and have fun with it.

How about an activity that gets them introduced to the living God that can release them from their anger, hatred, and dependency. It is the best place to start healing, with the wonderful counsellor.

sometimes art therapy can be useful. Give them some clay, and read them a story while they make something out of it. Ask them what they have created and why.

Oh you brave soul.... the boys at my school love to draw. Have them make a mural; each can create a part of it and you can arrange them however you like. Tell them it must symbolize what "happiness" looks like to them....Also, you could challenge them to do something. They love challenges. Have them look at the Rube goldberg site and give them some odds and ends and see what task they can accomplish with the odds and ends. (Keeps them occupied for hours.) Ohhhhh....and include a slinky or 2. I was given one as a joke and my boys used it till they stretched it out.
