What to do about my poor sons raw nose?

My son has had a sinus/cold for the past several days and I have had to aspirate his little nose so much that it is so raw and red. Do they make a product for chapped noses? I feel so bad because I can tell it hurts him. Also, I wanted to try just applying chapstick but my husband told me the petroleum in the chapstick or vaseline wasn't good for him to breathe. What do you typically apply to your childs nose?

Check with your pediatrician. Can you give him a little bit of something like sudafed to help treat his symptoms? Don't do this without asking first, of course...

Try using neosporin around the outer edge of his nose. Use a q-tip to apply it just inside his nose. Put a little more on at night time. I wouldn't use chapstick though.

Next time he has a cold buy Kleenex Aloe Vera tissues. They don't irritate the skin and they actually leave a layer of moisturiser on the skin every time you use one. I swear by these and my kids have never had a red sore nose since I discovered these.
