my daughter is almost 8months and she's been crawling and sitting up for the last couple weeks, and just the other day she pulled up to her knees...i was just wondering how close she might be to walking.

like some of the others who've answers this question have said every baby is different.
i encouraged my daughter to stand and walk very early. she would stand up and hold on to furniture on her own at 7 months and was walking fully unassisted by 12months, but then again she never crawled and didn't want to. she was easy to encourage because it was quite obvious that she wanted to be up and about.
another way to encourage baby's to get up and stand/walk is to use one of those door bouncers or walker seats. this helps to strengthen their legs and prepares them for supporting their weight on their own.
my daughter is now 20 months and runs, climbs and walks up and down stairs, all unassisted.

My son Blake sat at 5 months, crawled at 6 1/2 and started pulling up and cruising around furniture at 8 1/2 months. He started walking a week after his birthday.

On the other hand, I knew a baby who walked at 9 months and another who is 17 months and still not walking. I guess all children are different and I say there's no set time from pulling up to walking.

Enjoy this time while it lasts cos once they start walking, running isn't far away!

my name is lauraann... my daughter is 13 yrs old now,but she started "pulling" herself up at 9 months and walking by 11 months... don't sweat it about her development, she's doing fine now and she's gonna be starting to walk in no time at all... but i don't know if this is ur first child or not,but as a parent, i warn u now, START PUTTING THE BREAKABLES UP HIGHER RIGHT NOW!!!! That way she won't be able to touch anything that's breakable and put it into her mouth...
