| hello. please help me. my baby just turned 9 month old a few days ago. all along he has been breastfed, he had some formula when he was like a month to 2 months old, after that it was all breast milk. He started to eat some solids now, like 3 meals a day. So i stopped breastfeeding him three days ago, and he just wont drink formula. Is that ok? some people advice me to stop giving him the solids (mashed stuff), and let him starve for some time, and he will eventually drink formula. Is this true? help me !!i guess i should not have said the word starve. I am not gona starve him, i meant that i would just offer him formula at all times, and maybe when he is really hungry he will drink it. because if i offer him solids, he is not gona take formula at all.

| these people are mad, never let your baby starve, you have to feed him for god sakes the child still has to grow you know it needs food, you have to make him that clear, but pls don't let it starve of hunger, that is child abuse in my view.with my text i hope i helped you and i did not try to humiliate you or something, sry if i did.

| If he isn't used to taking a bottle it may not be the formula that he doesn't like. If he has had a bottle then try changing formula's. If that doesn't work give him breastmilk in a bottle and slowly mix in formula. Mix the formula first with water then do like 3 oz BM and 6 formula then slowly increase. I would not take away any food or withhold anything from him could do more harm then good. Mabey he just isn't ready to give up the mommy time he gets from nursing. Could be his way of telling you he isn't ready to give up the breast. Anyway you could go back to breastfeeding till he self weans?

| Just because he started solids does not mean he is ready to be weaned. Just start breastfeeding him again. He wonnt take the formula because it tastes disgusting. But your milk is made just for him and has all the vitmins and nutrients he needs. Eating solids wont give him the nourishment he needs but breastmilk will. Please do not starve your child. He is still developing and needs nourishment from you.

| OK, I did not read the stuff in front of me but I would say NO, don't give up. Give him the food he needs and Whole milk, 2 %, Skim...whatever he thinks tastes good. As long as he is getting enough liquid (water, pump your milk...you don;t say...not that I am judging...) he will be fine! Make it easy on yourself. I know this is hard but he will be fine. Make sure he has enough to eat and drink and he will adjust, it will be a harder transtition for you than for him and in the long run all will be happy AND sleep well

| He's decided he doesn't need the formula anymore. DON'T starve him!!! Give him juices, or water. Some babies advance faster than others. Feed him vegs. and as much fruit as he'll eat. He'll get his nutrition from that. Some babies don't need the suppliments, if they're eating the right foods. Good luck!!!!!!!!!
