I have a 10 week old daughter who has several young cousins who live near us. They constantly touch her head and ask to hold her. I don't think it's appropriate and worry that my daughter might get hurt if they are in the habit of touching her head or trying to hold her - especially now that she's getting more "squirmy" and moving around more. My husband doesn't seem to mind, but it makes me anxious when we're around the other kids. I know that a baby's soft spot doesn't fully close until they are 2 years old. My mother in law lets the other kids hold my baby - with her supervising - and I know she won't get hurt in that instance, but since the kids think they can hold the baby themselves, I think it's just a bad habit for them to get into since they might try to pick her up unsupervised. Am I being over-protective or do I have a valid worry?

I wouldnt worry about them touching her head... you just have to tell them to be gental if they want to touch her head....About the kids holding your baby.. i wouldnt worry about that either... if you sit next too them when they want to hold her and you tell them how to hold her they will hold her tight and safe! dont be over protective your baby isnt gonna die!
