| When two unmarried people have a child together, the mother is granted sole custody, even when the father has signed the recognition of parentage, accepting responsibility for that child. Shouldn't these parents be given joint custody? Or shouldn't the father be automatically granted visitation, without being forced to file a motion with the court (which costs every tax payer money)? I'd love to hear from both women and men on this. Also, this is a hypothetical situation assuming that the father wishes for a relationship with his child.
